The Chocolate Festival is arranged by pastry chefs Magnus Johansson and Tony Olsson together with the Nordiska museet. History The idea to create a chocolate festival originates from Perugia in Italy. The patisseries in Perugia found that the chocolate they were producing and selling was of a poor quality and decided in 1993 to celebrate quality chocolate. During one week pastry shops and restaurants got to together to create various works of chocolate. The phenomena with chocolate festivals have since spread from Perugia to Paris, New York, Barcelona and since 2002 also in Sweden and the Nordiska museet. Today there are also other festivals celebrating the chocolate around Sweden. |
