The exhibition Plastic! tells the story of this material, from its birth at the end of the 19th century, through the plastic mania of the 1950s and 60s through to the 21st century. We are now more dependent on plastic than ever and plastic products are popular, yet almost everyone is aware of the material’s environmental impact.

On display until Jan 9, 2011

The new exhibition Power of Fashion - 300 years of clothing opened on February 26 2010.

The power of fashion is strong. All social groups use clothing to create their identity. Meet people from three decades, the 1780s, 1860s and 1960s, times when the economy, currents of ideas and technical developments clearly affected clothing and fashion.
